Breeam Assessment

BREEAM stands for the Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method and is a tool for assessing the environmental performance of new construction, refurbishment and fit out projects as well as Infrastructure projects, Community projects and In Use Building Performance.

BREEAM is a holistic environmental assessment process, which considers a variety of sustainability issues including energy use, water use, land use, construction site and building management, health and wellbeing, material use, waste generation and pollution. The performance of the project is assessed against specific requirements and certification is achieved to a rating of Pass, Good, Very Good, Excellent or Outstanding.

We know how challenging BREEAM certification can be and the level of risk that it can bring to your projects. Our BREEAM Assessors have 18 years of experience supporting developers to ensure that the assessment process is simple, smooth and cost effective. We have a great deal of experience in New Build, Listed Buildings, Refurbishment and Fit Out projects across a wide range of building types, including:

· Multi-residential such as student accommodation and care homes

· Retail

· Industrial

· Offices

· Schools

· Hospitals

· Hotels

Drawing on the experience of our assessors we can identify the most viable issues to target within the relevant BREEAM scheme and hone in on the ‘best fit’ assessment route for your specific project. This tailored approach enables an efficient certification process, whilst also ensuring that any additional services, initiatives and design features included to achieve your required BREEAM rating add real value to your project and asset.

In addition to BREEAM assessment, we also offer a BREEAM Advisory Professional service. This is a separate role from the BREEAM assessor that supports the project team to obtain maximum value and cost-effective performance from the use of BREEAM throughout the project, whilst managing risks and staying on course to achieve the target rating.

We will work with the project team to consider the links between BREEAM issues and assist them in achieving or going beyond the design intent, to maximise the project’s performance against the agreed targets throughout the Construction, Handover and Close Out stages. We will proactively identify risks and opportunities related to the procurement and construction process, provide feedback to the team, monitor and coordinate evidence for submission to the BREEAM assessor.

For many, BREEAM assessment can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be! Speak to us about your project’s requirements and we will streamline the process, ensuring your building is certified with minimum of fuss.
