Sustainability Assessment
Today’s buildings undergo a rigorous process of analysis to ensure they are energy efficient, low impact and crucially are comfortable to occupy. Many standards have been introduced in recent
years to ensure these issues are considered from project inception through to detailed design stage, construction stage and even into the building operation stage.
Our energy assessors have 18 years of experience in Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) of buildings and can provide a detailed level of support to the design team to identify risks at an early stage of your project. In doing so, solutions can be implemented at the required time to improve building performance and mitigate negative effects.
We can offer a wide range of sustainability consultancy services within the construction industry, many of which can also secure credits towards your BREEAM assessment. These Services include:
· Non-domestic and domestic Part L compliance and EPCs
· thermal comfort analysis to CIBSE TM52, TM59 and Part O
· Daylight and sunlight impact analysis
· Internal daylight assessment
· Energy statements and strategies
· BREEAM Passive Design Analysis and Low and Zero Carbon feasibility assessments
· Operational energy modelling to CIBSE TM54 / BREEAM ENE01
· Indoor air quality plans
· Life Cycle Assessments, Life Cycle Costing
We use IES Virtual Environment software as the DSM tool for analysis of both new build and existing buildings. Once a thermal model has been created within this software package it can be used for multiple assessment types, thus offering a significant cost saving compared to procuring each service separately.
Our approach is friendly, supportive and efficient. We cut through the heavy detail and numerous standards that should be followed when designing buildings so that you don’t have to. If you have any projects where you think we could support, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
