Our Fire & Construction Consultancy is an independent practice whose primary driver is to deliver the highest standard of design and construction innovation with no compromise on the life safety of all people in and around buildings.

The practices dedicated team has over 20 years’ experience in both the Statutory Approval assessments and also the Fire Safety Consultancy delivery stream providing a unique insight into all aspects of construction and fire safety. This balance of consultancy, legislative overview, detailed and complex site-based construction and product assessments provides us in a unique position to provide bespoke tailored solutions to complex design and construction challenges.

With the diverse experience from both a construction, product, and design perspective this allows us to provide a fully tailored bespoke service on complex construction projects from project inception to completion and occupation.

The aim is for early end user and design team engagement to ensure key fire safety elements are included in the design from the outset with defined fire safety performance necessities and end user requirements fully integrated in the concept design, we will engage with other designers and specialists to ensure a high quality, co-ordinated and robust solution.

We will deliver a holistic solution that can cover life safety, asset protection and business continuity providing an integrated viable solution that meets all requirements.

Construction, Design and Management Regulations

All projects undertaken by us within the UK are subject to the requirements of the Construction, Design and Management Regulations (CDM)

Our reports define the fire safety strategy for meeting the functional and performance requirements for fire safety in completed developments; where our conclusions and recommendations note the performance specification requirements of particular materials, products, or forms of construction these will have been assessed, in accordance with CDM Regulation 9 (Duties for Designers). Our procedures are based upon the requirements of the CDM Regulations in particular Regulation 11 and 18, duties for designers.

In the event that these involve significant residual risks or health and safety critical assumptions, this information will be made available to the Principal Designer, Client, and Principal Duty Holder.

Our Fire Engineers, in line with our management system, has developed a set of accredited procedures to enable us to adequately discharge our duties under CDM Regulations 2015. Our procedures also ensure that the work of the Fire Engineers meets regulatory requirements. These are detailed in our Standard operating procedures and Management System.

Company and Individual Memberships

All our team members are degree qualified and are all members of a Fire Engineering based association such as Institute of Fire Engineers / Institute of Fire Safety Managers / and are either Chartered or working towards Chartership of the Engineering Council or Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

All our team maintain at least the minimum required CPD hours in line with their professional qualifications.

Each member of our technical team maintains their own record of training and CPD in accordance with the IFE / RICS & IFSM CPD requirements. Full Training Records and Training & Development Policy are available on request.

We are also affiliate members of the Institute of Fire Engineers.

Our team have extensive experience working on construction projects and bespoke buildings across all primary sectors of the construction industry including secure research facilities, student accommodation, residential developments, schools, colleges, hotels, offices, retail, recreational facilities, retirement villages, schools, MOD, and industrial developments.
